Better known by its Arabic name, Baladya. This is the City Hall of Anjar, where the
Municipal Council meets. This council is composed of 12 members and a
mayor, elected internally by the councilmembers.
During the civil war of Lebanon the Baladya had lost its power of implementing law and order in the village. It rarely received funds from the Lebanese Government to fix roads or change the bulbs of the street lights.
The last municipal elections in Anjar were held in 1997. Sebouh Sekayan is the current mayor.
